The play version of ‘Dark Eros’ was staged initially as readings in Los Angeles, under the title ‘The Park at Night’, one of which featured Jessica Biel in the lead role as Leila.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Q: What made you write this book?

A: It’s an adaptation of a feature film script which I wrote some years ago. I love the characters, and it was a tremendous joy to delve more deeply into their psyches in literary form while doing the adaption from screenplay to novel.

Q: Your books explore dark themes: incest, attempted rape, murder, sociopaths/psychopaths, and so on. Why?

A: Life is made up of all kinds of experiences, light and dark, and many people will face evil, to some degree in their life. We are each the main character—the hero or heroine—in our own life fairy and horror tale (our hero or heroine’s journey). I also explore these themes because of a personal interest in women who transcend these horrific types of life experience, which is part of reality.

Q: Is your work meant to inspire?

A: My stories are meant to be entertaining and thought-provoking, and it’s wonderful if readers find them uplifting or inspiring. Humans undergo painful and terrible things. What does not kill us, has the potential to make us stronger.
